It was actually used for one of my\u00a0previous desktop builds, and also worked very well for my current build. \u00a0This server-style case has a lot of really great space that you don&#8217;t necessarily get with a standard size desktop case. The extra size alone makes\u00a0the computer a lot easier\u00a0to work on as well as allowing for adequate\u00a0airflow to keep the system cool &#8211; since I opted for standard air cooling rather than water cooling.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-6466\" src=\"http:\/\/www.tcustomz.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/01\/music-production-pc-build.png\" alt=\"music production pc build\" width=\"800\" height=\"800\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.tcustomz.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/01\/music-production-pc-build.png 800w, https:\/\/www.tcustomz.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/01\/music-production-pc-build-150x150.png 150w, https:\/\/www.tcustomz.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/01\/music-production-pc-build-300x300.png 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 800px) 100vw, 800px\" \/><\/p>\n<h2>Motherboard<\/h2>\n<p>Having previously decided on building an\u00a0AMD system versus Intel (based mainly off of good past experience with AMD setups), I found a really great military-grade motherboard\u00a0to support the\u00a0CPU I chose, the <strong>ASUS SABERTOOTH 990FX R2.0 AM3+ AMD 990FX<\/strong>. \u00a0All of the components I picked for this build were based off online reviews and overall budget constraints, and this was one of the better ones I found for the price range. A great overclocking mobo that&#8217;s built to last!<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-6467\" src=\"http:\/\/www.tcustomz.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/01\/asus-mobo.jpg\" alt=\"ASUS SABERTOOTH 990FX\" width=\"740\" height=\"462\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.tcustomz.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/01\/asus-mobo.jpg 740w, https:\/\/www.tcustomz.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/01\/asus-mobo-300x187.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 740px) 100vw, 740px\" \/><\/p>\n<h2>Power Supply<\/h2>\n<p>My piece of advice when you&#8217;re building any high-end PC &#8211; don&#8217;t skimp on the power supply! \u00a0Many times folks will focus the majority of their budget on the CPU, MOBO and RAM &#8211; but then don&#8217;t include\u00a0a quality\u00a0PSU to power the components. \u00a0Without a solid,\u00a0uninterrupted source of steady power, you run the risk of an unstable computer. \u00a0This may cause random crashes or unexpected issues with the overall performance.<\/p>\n<p>For my music production build I chose the\u00a0<strong>FirePower Silencer MK III 750W 80Plus Gold Metallic Aviation Sem-Modular ATX PC Power Supply PPCMK3S750 (Formerly PC Power &amp; Cooling).<\/strong>\u00a0I&#8217;ve had really great experience with PC Power and Cooling PSUs in the past, and that was one of the reasons I chose it\u00a0for this computer as well.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-6468\" src=\"http:\/\/www.tcustomz.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/01\/pc-power-cooling-firepower-silencer-750w.jpg\" alt=\"firepower silencer mkiii 750w psu\" width=\"550\" height=\"455\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.tcustomz.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/01\/pc-power-cooling-firepower-silencer-750w.jpg 550w, https:\/\/www.tcustomz.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/01\/pc-power-cooling-firepower-silencer-750w-300x248.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 550px) 100vw, 550px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h2>CPU Cooler<\/h2>\n<p>Many stock heatsink fans that come with your standard processors aren&#8217;t always the best at circulating airflow to your processor. \u00a0And because of this it&#8217;s usually recommended to upgrade to an aftermarket cooler, that is if you are air cooling your system.
