I feel like I&#8217;ve been forcing myself and I don&#8217;t want to do that.&#8221;<\/em><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<h2>What is Producer&#8217;s\u00a0Block?<\/h2>\n<p>Similar to a writer\u00a0experiencing a writer&#8217;s block,\u00a0I would describe a\u00a0producer&#8217;s block (or &#8220;beat block&#8221;)\u00a0as\u00a0a point when\u00a0it becomes very difficult for you, the\u00a0beat maker, to produce or complete\u00a0any new instrumental.<\/p>\n<p>There could be a number of reasons why you may get\u00a0&#8220;stuck&#8221;, and\u00a0your creativity isn&#8217;t flowing like normal. \u00a0But the good news is that there are a number of tips and strategies\u00a0that you can implement to help you get past it and restore your creative juices again \ud83d\ude42<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h3>**Here are my 3 Proven Tips to Combat Producer&#8217;s Block&#8230;<\/h3>\n<h2>Tip #1 &#8211; Working on Multiple Sessions<\/h2>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignright  wp-image-5763\" src=\"http:\/\/www.tcustomz.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/03\/producers-block.gif\" alt=\"producers block\" width=\"101\" height=\"82\" \/><\/p>\n<p>In other words, instead of focusing your entire energy on completing a single beat from start to finish, try working on at least 3-4 sessions (or even more) that you can bounce back and forth between. This personally really helps me to keep my tracks progressing along nicely. \u00a0If you ever feel stagnant or like you&#8217;re forcing your musical ideas for a given track, you can simply save your progress on the current session and move on to the next one. \u00a0This way you can escape the &#8220;bubble&#8221; of the track that has you stuck, and you can keep the creativity flowing with a different concept.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h2>Tip #2 &#8211;\u00a0Listening to Music for Ideas &amp; Inspiration<\/h2>\n<p>Getting ideas and inspiration by listening to various types of music, songs and instrumentals can also be a really great method for getting yourself out of a &#8220;beat block&#8221;. \u00a0As much as we like to think our ideas are 100% original, as creatives we are directly influenced and pulling ideas from the\u00a0music we listen to regularly. \u00a0In other words, the music that you input\u00a0is going to have a direct impact and influence on the music that you\u00a0output.<\/p>\n<p>Another aspect of your\u00a0session\u00a0you could\u00a0be stuck on is the arrangement. \u00a0In which case I would recommend watching the video I shot a while ago on <strong><a href=\"http:\/\/www.tcustomz.com\/blog\/how-to-structure-a-hip-hop-beat-or-instrumental\/\" target=\"_blank\">how to arrange a hip hop instrumental<\/a><\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h2>Tip #3 &#8211;\u00a0Music Cleanse<\/h2>\n<p>Sometimes you&#8217;ve just got to take a break! \u00a0When the first two\u00a0strategies aren&#8217;t working to help combat your beat\u00a0block, it may be time to\u00a0fall back for a short period of time.
