Chopping up the sample and making a basic sequence<br \/>\n&#8211; Adding Effects to the sample including: Attack, EQ\/filtering, Widening &amp; Reverb\/Delay.<\/p>\n<p><strong><em>DRUMS &amp; HI HATS<\/em><\/strong><br \/>\n&#8211; Creating a drum track and layering various drum samples<br \/>\n&#8211; Processing drum samples using parallel compression (also known as New York compression)<br \/>\n&#8211; Quantization &amp; velocity variation<br \/>\n&#8211; Applying Ableton Live grooves (MPC swing in this case) to get an unquantized, Hip Hop sounding drum track.<\/p>\n<p><em><strong>BASS LINE<\/strong><\/em><br \/>\n&#8211; Loading a single bass note into an Ableton sampler, and playing it across a full keyboard<br \/>\n&#8211; Having two bass line tracks (one pitched up an octave) running in parallel<\/p>\n<p><em><strong>PERCUSSION &amp; TRANSITION FX<\/strong><\/em><br \/>\n&#8211; Adding some &#8220;sprinkles&#8221; to the beat<\/p>\n<p><strong><em>HOOK<\/em><\/strong><br \/>\n&#8211; Finding additional sample stabs for the hook<br \/>\n&#8211; Adding a synth melody using Spectrasonics Omnisphere vsti (awesome plugin!)<\/p>\n<p><em><strong>FINALIZATION<\/strong><\/em><br \/>\n&#8211;
